Rollers, Sundowns in friendly talks

He however said the fixture would be used a preparations for the CAF Champions league, which both teams are involved in.

"At this stage nothing is finalised. We have sent a proposal to Sundowns. The idea is to play them on June 30 (in South Africa) and they would come to us on July 7. But at the moment nothing is complete yet. We have to finalise details of the agreement and once we are done, we will announce," he said.

He further said the games would present a prefect platform for the teams as they continue their club continental assignments. "Sundowns are coming back for the pre-season, we are already in the pre-season. We are competing in the CAF Champions league and we both need game time, so this would be a great opportunity for both to prepare for the (CAF) games," Shah explained.

Rollers last year played South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs in a friendly fixture that reportedly cost the team at least P1 million while Sundowns on the other side paid R100 million (approximately P77 million) for their high profile friendly fixture against Spanish league champions, FC Barcelona).

"We have the boys who won the league and the Mascom Top 8 and competed in the CAF. Do we really need new players, no I think the boys we have are fine and we will carry on with them," he said.

Rollers returned from the off-season on Monday as they prepare for yet another cramped season. The team will kick off their season with a CAF champions league fixture against Al Ahly in Egypt on July 17 before the Red Devils come to the country for the return fixture on July 28.

Rollers' general manager Sidney Magagane and team manager, Motshegetsi Mafa visited the North African country earlier this month as they continue for the crucial away fixture.
