HTC recently slashed the price of the Vive by $200, and now the company has another attractive deal for prospective buyers.
Starting today, those who purchase a $599 Vive will receive a free redemption code for Fallout 4 VR, a $59.99 value. Slated to launch on Dec. 12, Fallout 4 VR—a Vive exclusive—includes the complete core Fallout game with "all-new combat, crafting, and building systems" specifically designed for virtual reality.
"Fallout 4 VR is the most anticipated title for VR this holiday, and the game development team at Bethesda Game Studios is delivering on the promise with a full-length AAA open-world game that takes advantage of Vive's incredible room-scale immersion for a mind-blowing experience in the Wasteland," Joel Breton, general manager of Vive Studios, said in a statement. "The promise of a game with near endless content, including hundreds of locations, characters, and quests, fully playable in VR, is something that we have been focused on providing for the VR gaming community."
Just keep in mind that you'll need to be at least 18 years old to redeem your free Fallout VR code, HTC said.
Meanwhile, if you already own a Vive and decide to purchase Fallout 4 VR, you'll get a free 3-month Viveport subscription. Normally priced at $6.99 a month, a Viveport subscription lets you select five titles every month from a library of more than 250 pieces of VR content to download and play.
