According to the latest consumer price index figures, tea, coffee and cocoa prices by June, had risen by 6.1% from their levels last June, while milk, milk products and cheese prices had climbed 2.3% over the same period.

On the other end of the scale, the average prices of bread and cereals fell 6.4% in the year to June 2018, on the back of supportive flour prices and a regional wheat surplus.

Prices in this sector have been helped by a cumulative three percent reduction of the wheat levy, which has reduced the prices of imported wheat flour, while also restraining the prices offered by local millers.
